To sign up for TexQuest, please complete and submit the TexQuest form located in the ESC-20 online Commitment System. Districts will receive their account logins in 5 to 10 business days from the date the sign up form is submitted.

Who to Thank
The 83rd Texas Legislature provided funds for the Texas State Library and Archives Commission to re-establish statewide digital resources for K-12 public schools and open enrollment charter schools. Access will begin on June 15, 2014.
As the TexQuest Support Center, Education Service Center, Region 20 assists schools with sign up, outreach, training, and implementation of the digital resources included with access to TexQuest.

WHAT ARE SCHOOLS GETTING?
Starting June 15, 2014, public school districts and open enrollment charter schools will have 24/7 access to a suite of resources from Gale as well as two historic archives of primary source materials from Adam Matthew Digital. In Year 2 of the TexQuest program, access to Britannica School will be added on June 15, 2015.
WHAT IS GALE?
Gale is an educational publishing company that offers numeorus online subscriptions for K-12. Participating districts will have access to the following online databases from Gale: Gale Student Resources in Context, GREENR, Literature Resource Center, Health & Wellness Resource Center, Gale Virtual Reference library, InfroTrac Newsstand, National Geographic Kids, Informe, Opposing Viewpoints in Context, Kids InfoBits, Academic OneFile, Scribner Writers Series, Educator’s Reference Complete, Student Resource Center Junior, General OneFile, Twayne’s Authors Series.
WHAT IS ADAM MATTHEW DIGITAL?
Adam Matthew is a scholarly publisher that makes available original manuscript collections, rare printed books and other primary source material for the humanities and social sciences. Participating districts will have access to two online collections from Adam Matthew Digital: The American West and American Indian Histories and Cultures. These collections are primarily for secondary grades.
HOW DO DISTRICTS SIGN UP?
School districts may sign up beginning in late May. Please click here for directions on how to sign up.
IS THERE A DEADLINE TO SIGN UP?
In order to ensure access as early as possible in the school year, districts should sign up by October 15, 2014.
CAN WE SIGN UP AS A CAMPUS?
Participation in the TexQuest program is by district only.
WHAT IS THIS GOING TO COST MY DISTRICT?
From June 15, 2014 to June 14, 2015, there is no charge to participate in the TexQuest program.
From June 15, 2015 to June 14, 2016, districts that wish to continue participating in the program will be invoiced an annual participation fee in the amount of 22 cents per pupil, based on enrollment date provided by TEA for the 2013-2014 school year. Invoicing will be done by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC).
WHEN WILL DISTRICTS BE INVOICED?
TSLAC will invoice districts for the 2015-2016 school year in January 2015. The 2015-2016 contracts begin June 15, 2015.
WHAT IF DISTRICTS DON’T PAY THE TEXQUEST PARTICIPATION FEE?
School districts that do not pay the TexQuest participation fee will lose access to the program resources on June 15, 2015.
HOW DOES A DISTRICT SET UP TSLAC AS A VENDOR?

I CREATED AN ESC-20 COMMITMENT SYSTEM ACCESS ID. DOES THIS ALLOW ME ACCESS TO THE TEXQUEST RESOURCES?
The Access ID received from ESC-20 (email@example.com) is provided to individuals to allow access into the ESC-20 Commitment System. Once you log into the Commitment System with your the Access ID, click on the TexQuest form, complete and submit. The TexQuest Support Center will then email the login credentials to the primary and library contacts designated during the sign up process within 5 business days.
No, only the designated district contact will require an ESC-20 Commitment System account. Once an individual signs up for TexQuest, all campuses in the district will be automatically included.
It depends on the type of usage reports needed by the district. If district usage reports suffice, you should request IP authentication and district customized password. If campus level usage reports are needed, then you should request customization for campus level passwords.
No, current Gale subscribers will receive a new customized URL and default password once they sign up for TexQuest. If you would like to customize your password, please complete the Customization Request Form.
If you do not see your current resources when you login using your TexQuest Gale login credentials, please contact the TexQuest Support Center so that we may work with the vendor to add all resources to your existing account.
