FAQs

Program and Participation

What do districts get by enrolling in TexQuest?

  • Public school districts and open enrollment charter schools have 24/7 access to resources from Britannica, EBSCO, Gale/Cengage Learning, Infobase, ProQuest, and TeachingBooks.
  • Complete list of TexQuest resources for 2024-2025 (This document is updated yearly to reflect changes made to the resource offerings.)

Can individual campuses participate?

  • No; membership in the TexQuest program is by District only. The TexQuest resources are intended for K-12 students, and making them available to all students better prepares them for the next level of their education.

Membership Fee

  • Districts that are members of the TexQuest program will be invoiced an annual membership fee.
  • If a district is enrolled in TexQuest, they will automatically be enrolled in any subsequent year of the TexQuest program.
    • NOTE: If your district was previously a member of TexQuest but lost access and has not had a membership in more than one fiscal year, please contact TSLAC's Accounting Department for instructions on how to renew your membership.
  • The State Fiscal Year 2025 (September 1, 2024 - August 31, 2025) membership fee will be $0.29 per student based on enrollment data provided by TEA on AskTED.
  • The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) handles all Invoicing for TexQuest annually.

Can districts receive discounts on additional resources from TexQuest providers?

How do I update my district's TexQuest contacts or address?

The TexQuest Participation Summary (TPS) Report is a report that the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) generates for each participating TexQuest district that includes the following information:

  • Estimated Upcoming Fiscal Year Program Membership Fee
  • Retail value of TexQuest resources (money district saves by participating in TexQuest)
  • Statewide Participation Facts
  • Information about NEW TexQuest resources (if any)
  • Current Fiscal Year District Usage Statistics
  • Help and Newsletter Information

TPS reports are emailed to District Primary, Librarian, and Accounting contacts in mid-May. For questions regarding the TexQuest Participation Summary Report please contact the TexQuest Support Center or TSLAC.
